My homegrown roots are in Boerne, Texas though I have lived all over this state. After my B.S. in Psychology and B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies, I taught for around 16 years to immerse myself in diverse cultures, family, and community systems. I was, and still am, an ongoing advocate for youth as well as families and individuals. I obtained my M.S. Counseling here, on the clinical mental health track, at TAMUCC where I received additional education and training outside of those required, including Healthcare Integration.
My goal, in the counseling field, is to facilitate mental well-being and holistic wellness, as well to assist clients in self-empowerment and personal growth (through individual or group services). Though I am known for bringing creativity into counseling and creating therapeutic alliances specific to client need, I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), CBT, Trauma-Focused Care, Play Therapy, as well as therapies focused on anxiety, depression, impulse control, anger control, addiction, pain disorders, child and adolescent management, and parenting skills. I have experience counseling persons from 3 years of age to those of respected seniority. It is my sincere hope to offer a comfortable, respectful, and personalized counseling experience to all clients where we can work together toward your personal goals. I definitely know that seeking counseling can be a most-difficult decision and it takes such courage to seek assistance. I can promise one thing: You are not alone!
