Laura received her Master of Science in Counseling in 2009 and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science in 2003 from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified School Counselor with 13 years of experience in public schools. She has worked in a variety of settings with children, teenagers, and adults for over twenty-five years. She has additional training in Grief and Loss, Solution-Focused, Trauma, Attachment and Play Therapy. She uses a combination of counseling approaches including Person-Centered, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused and Narrative Therapy. She works to create a therapeutic alliance with her clients and fosters hope, self-compassion and resilience. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate (ABD) in Counselor Education at TAMU-CC where she is developing her skills in research and scholarship, teaching, supervision, counseling, and leadership and advocacy.
